About

Originally hailing from Auckland, New Zealand but currently living in Toronto, Canada, Ben Lovatt brings a truly unique perspective and approach to entrepreneurialism.

Not only can Ben type about himself in the third person, he has also developed a wide-ranging skillset that allows him to translate his scientific/historical knowledge into engaging content creation and to found/operate an internationally-recognized museum & retail facility.

Ben’s primary career focuses have always been public education and wildlife conservation, with his previous endeavours including owning educational multimedia websites and propagating endangered and exploited wildlife in captivity.

This experience provided a perfect, and natural, launch point for his current projects:

——

The Prehistoria Museum - a 12,000sqft natural & human history museum in downtown Toronto. Despite the extensive operating costs for a facility this size, admission will always be “Donate What You Can”. Ben spent years living far below the poverty line, while battling his disabilities, and couldn’t afford to visit the city’s museums. Knowing the heartbreaking feelings of exclusion created by poverty, he vowed to never turn anyone away due to their lack of money. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn about, and experience, our shared planet.

——
SkullStore Inc. - an oddity shop founded to create an alternative, sustainable, source for natural history collectibles and legally-acquired artifacts.
